Acrylic on Crystal Clear Diamond Glass and Hahnemühle Fine Art Giclée archival paper
The process starts with a moment in time—an elusive instant captured on the medium of lightsensitive analog film; this moment is often unrecognizable, unstaged, and, in most cases, discarded as mistakes, never to be seen or recollected. Spanding years, I’ve collected these moments in the search of finding beauty in an analog moment caught on expired analog film, processing light as the medium, and capturing color through various methods. These moments reflect the illusive nature of light and color.
After years of carefully saving these precious moments, the idea continues to develop, evolve, and even surpass the promises and potential of the sparks that were originally captured in those specific moments in time. In recollection of these moments through digitization, an experimental state of the original moments reaches enough light to have a close balance with abstraction once brought back to an analog state in Hahnemühle Fine Art Giclée archival paper prints mounted on Crystal Clear Diamond Glass.
The final process captures new and previously unseen moments within the intricate new layers of paint that are carefully applied to the glass, ultimately adding multiple depths of moments in time to the overall composition of the artwork. An abstract piece using various materials, light, and colors influenced by Existentialism captures a moment in the medium's evolution.
