The creation of FLATLIST, a quality-focused eyewear brand inspired by the past,
conveying the zeitgeist of tomorrow!
A full-service creative holistic approach to creating and starting up the lifestyle brand, FLATLIST eyewear.
Building an International Premium Brand requires more than strong products. It requires a clear point of view, disciplined execution and the organisational capability to scale without losing identity.
As Consulting Chief Operating & Creative Officer, I partnered directly with the founders of FLATLIST to help transform an emerging Scandinavian eyewear company into an internationally recognised lifestyle brand. My role combined brand strategy, creative leadership and operational development, ensuring the business could grow while maintaining a coherent brand experience across every customer touchpoint.
The Challenge: FLATLIST had established a distinctive product offering but was entering a new stage of growth. International retail expansion demanded greater consistency across campaigns, wholesale communication, digital channels and internal operations. The challenge extended beyond marketing. It was about building an organisation capable of delivering a premium brand experience at scale.
My Role: Consulting Chief Operating & Creative Officer, Working directly with the founders, I helped bridge creative ambition with commercial execution. Responsibilities included: Brand strategy and creative direction, Operational leadership, Campaign development, Creative systems and workflows, Retail communication, Product storytelling, Cross-functional collaboration, Founder advisory.
Strategic Thinking: Premium brands are built through consistency rather than frequency. Every campaign, product launch and customer interaction contributes to long-term brand equity. Rather than treating branding as a sequence of isolated campaigns, we developed a creative framework capable of supporting the business as it expanded into new markets and retail partners. The objective was simple: Build a brand that could scale without becoming fragmented
Creative Execution: Led creative initiatives spanning campaigns, digital communication, retail assets and product storytelling while aligning marketing, product development and commercial priorities. Established workflows enabling internal teams and external collaborators to deliver consistently across multiple channels and markets.
Business Impact: Supported FLATLIST's evolution into an internationally recognised premium eyewear brand. Contributed to expansion into leading international retailers including Dover Street Market, MR PORTER, Liberty London, MATCHES and KITH. Strengthened brand consistency across marketing, retail and digital communication while creating scalable creative processes supporting continued growth.
Leadership Lessons: Scaling creativity is rarely about producing more work. It's about building better systems. This project reinforced my belief that creative leadership succeeds when strategic thinking, operational clarity and creative execution become inseparable. Why It Matters; Many organisations can launch campaigns. Far fewer can build creative organisations capable of sustaining quality over time. This project demonstrates my approach to combining brand strategy with organisational development.
